Planning that leads to more effective action: work consolidation
Since last May, the members of Memphré en Mouvement...partenaires pour les 0-17 ans have been in strategic planning mode in order to pursue our work in early childhood, and to be ready to apply for assistance from Avenir d’enfants one last time in April, 2017.
We’ve been making good progress in our reflections, and community actors have done a huge job of identifying work objectives for the next three years.
After due reflection and debate, the partners will take action on four important isues: the stimulation of toddlers’ communication and language skills; the sedentary and lifestyle habits of young children; the anxiety experienced by parents and their children; and the relationships of trust between organizations and families.
Further work will focus on what can be done to improve the status of these four issues.
This cross-sectoral approach allowed us to exchange views on what is currently available in our community which, in turn, can serve as a solid basis for advancing our issues. We were also able to identify our weaknesses, which prompted us to enhance or put more emphasis on a number of ongoing actions. Finally, we are looking for solutions to fill in the “gaps”, and thus meet the needs of toddlers and their families in our community.
The 2017-2018 action plan will be finalized by the coordinating committee in early March, followed by a proposal to the members of the partners group during their assembly on March 27.
Subsequently, the review committee will get to work on an assessment plan for our new strategic plan.
When completed, it will be submitted to Avenir d’enfants in April, with work scheduled to begin this summer!
